Stephan Eberhagen
Stephan began studying Ikebana with the Ikenobō School, the oldest school of Ikebana, before turning to the Sogetsu School in 2010. He decided to become a certified Sogetsu teacher in 2020.
Stephan conducts in-person and Zoom Ikebana classes regularly. He has participated in several international Ikebana exhibitions, including exhibitions at Sogetsu Kaikan (Sogetsu headquarters in Tokyo), and contributed to the book project Music Inspires Ikebana. His notable projects include creating centerpieces for receptions celebrating the Japanese Emperor’s birthday, organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Miami; arrangements for the Japanese Consul’s private residence; floral displays for Miami’s Asian Culture Festivals; and large-scale arrangements for Ichimura Garden festivals. He has also collaborated with the Sogetsu Florida Branch and Ikebana International Chapter Miami, and provided demonstrations, classes, and arrangements for display at botanical gardens across Florida, private events, the Frost Art Museum (FIU), and the Florida International Affairs Foundation.
